COPE is grounded in the belief that our stress responses are not flaws — they are adaptations. Trauma, loss, and everyday stress shape how we respond to the world. Sometimes those responses help us. Sometimes they exhaust us.
Through education and creative practice, participants begin to understand their triggers not as weaknesses, but as normal human reactions to lived experience.
When we stop shaming ourselves, space opens.
Space to choose differently.
Space to respond instead of react.
Space to care for ourselves in creative and sustainable ways.
COPE helps participants recognize that they already carry the innate ability to cope. Through art-making and reflection, they learn how to manage their stress response with greater awareness, compassion, and intention.
COPE workshops are designed for adults and teens (15+) who want to better understand and manage the stressors in their lives. The program is ideal for everyday individuals — no diagnosis required and no artistic background necessary — simply an openness to learning and exploring creativity as a tool for growth and meaningful change.
I am an artist, art therapist, and educator passionate about creating supportive and welcoming spaces where people can reconnect with themselves through creativity, reflection, and self-care. With over 20 years of experience working with individuals of all ages and abilities, I have served in a variety of settings including early childhood education, K–12 public schools, nursing care facilities, residential treatment, and community art centers.
COPE grew from the integration of my educational background, professional experience, creative practice, and lived experience. At its heart, COPE is about supporting everyday well-being through creativity, connection, self-awareness, and healthy ways of coping with life’s challenges.
